I’ve already shared our experience of this year’s Camp Bestival, but I also wanted to show you how amazing it is for children of all ages. Ava has been going from the age of 2-4 and has adored it each year. So, I decided that the best way to show you how perfect it is for kids is to ask the kid! This post is a joint effort from Ava and I. I just had to chip in as she loves a tangent that girl!
The first thing Ava said when I asked her to help me write a post about her Camp Bestival experience was ‘I love you Camp Bestival’. There you go, straight from the horses mouth! There’s no doubt that (even in the rain! thanks 2017!) it’s a place that has it’s own special kind of magic.
I asked Ava to tell me which bits of her 2017 Camp Bestival experience she had enjoyed the most. Initially, she said ‘all of it!’, but we managed to focus (!) and narrow it down.

Playground
To me it’s no surprise that the Playground in Dingly Dell made her top moments. This girl loves a playground and the slide is particularly epic.

Art Town
This crafting and art tent is pretty epic. This year, due to the rain, it was even more jam-packed than normal. There are so many activities going on and this year Ava made Googly Google and a very fancy upcycled fan!

Circus skills
She loved this area last year and this year it held the same appeal. She had a go at various circus skills and her hula hooping was a great moment to remember (even more when Hubby had a go!).

Lizzie’s Way – Mud kitchen and wishing
Although this year was our 3rd time at Camp Bestival it was the first time we had actually gone in Lizzie’s Way. Even though it was very slippery, it was epic. Ava especially loved the make a wish and mud kitchen sections.

Face painting
Last year Ava picked a new face paint design each day and our first job each day was to get her ‘new face’! This year the rain on Saturday put pay to face-painting, after it all washed off on Friday. On Sunday she was fired up for face paints and she loved her Unicorn.

Playing football with Daddy in the pouring rain
On Saturday afternoon the bloggers met as usual at the Bollywood Bar for drinks with the Camp Bestival team. Ava spent most of the two hours we were there playing football in the pouring rain with her daddy. She was soaked through and very cold by the end of it, but she had enjoyed it so much.

Watching Mr Tumble
Ava was so excited this year to see Mr Tumble. This is an image I will always remember – her hoisted on hubby’s shoulders having the time of her life.

Spending time with Rose
She adores my bestie Amy’s daughter and was so excited to see Rose and run feral with her for a few hours.

Zip lining from a huge tree
How brave is my girl!? Can you see her right up there in the trees? She went up even higher (right to the tree trunk) before ecstatically screaming her way back down and she loved every second.

Swinging with Brummy Mummy’s boy
Ava had been eyeing up this swing for ages when we spotted Alison and Emma in the queue with 3 kids between them, perfect! Ava loved swinging with Emma’s little boy so much (he kept a tight grip though!).

Helter Skelter
She asked if she could go on the Helter Skelter and said she could do it on her own. So as she had put on her big girl pants, I thought I should too and be brave enough to let her do it alone! Needless to say she loved every second.

Holding the chick
Each year she has really enjoyed visiting the farm area and getting to hold the chicks. They also have a few other farm animals that the kids can pat too, it’s so lovely.
We ALL had such a wonderful time, despite the rain and I totally recommend it to anyone who is interested, kids or not, you’ll still love it! Early bird tickets for 2018 are now available!
