A Family Day At The Vyne National Trust, Hampshire

Last weekend we spent a lovely day at The Vyne, National Trust House and Gardens in Hampshire.

Baby’s aunty is staying with is, so it was lovely to have her come on our adventure with us.

Baby thought she was getting left behind at one point, so sprinted to catch up.  I just love her arms and hands in this photo; children are so expressive.

The Vyne is so beautiful; the gardens are tranquil and exceptionally pretty.

With wonderful architecture.

Baby had such fun running round the flower beds telling us what colour the flowers were.

Before she moved on to playing hide and seek behind a hedge.

There are various longer walks through the grounds depending on how far you wish to go, and there is even a bird watching hut along the way.

Baby was pleasantly surprised when she found a herd of cows grazing in the walled garden.

I think she liked riding the horse best of all though!

I wondered what she was doing, rearranging the cows; then I realised she was making them kiss each other!  How cute!

She even found time in her match making to mow the lawn!

Dotted around the grounds are some really stunning wood carved animal sculptures.

The playground is a really beautiful space very much in keeping with the surroundings.  Baby adored playing on the bridge and running through the tunnels.

It was so lovely to spend some quality time with my family and simply have nothing to do but wander round the grounds.

We spotted some absolutely huge fish!

Baby was mesmerised, watching them swim around the lake.

She kept pointing at them and saying ‘fish’ to us, as if we hadn’t spotted them ourselves.

We managed to get up some really big hills, but bear in mind we took our 3 wheeler Quinny pushchair, which is fab off-road.  Lesser pushchair may have struggled.

The house is stunning, a real dream house, with the manicured lawns stretching to the banks of the river.

Baby found some time to pose for a picture with her Aunty J.  I love it that Baby will grow up with J around, it is such a blessing.

I am amazed at how grown up Baby looks in these pictures.  During our walk I spotted this fabulous bench by the side of the track.

In addition to the house, gardens and playground, there is also a really lovely shop, ice cream parlour and a beautifully quaint tea room.

We were so lucky that we could eat outside in the gorgeous sunshine.  Baby enjoyed her trip to The Vyne so much that she even starting planning our next National Trust property visit!

I would recommend The Vyne for families, as there is plenty for children to do and heaps of open spaces for them to blow off steam.
