We were recently sent a feeding set from Jinjabiscuit to review. Jinjabiscuit is a new start up business that create eco-friendly, safe, children’s tableware. Jinjabiscuit products are;
1 Safe and durable – Jinjabiscuit dishes are made of 100% food grade silicone. Silicone is a natural material, made of rock and sand heated at high temperatures and is very stable. It does not contain BPA and does not react or leech chemicals into food, even when heated at very high temperatures. Jinjabiscuit dishes don’t scratch or stain and so don’t harbour bacteria.
2 Practical for parents – Jinjabiscuit dishes resist temperatures range of -30 to 230 degrees. They can go in the freezer, the microwave and they are perfectly safe in dishwashers. The dishes are lightweight, perfect for indoors and when the little ones want to take their favourite things out and about.
3 Loved by children – Unique designs are modern and funky and very child friendly. The dishes are soft and squishy but very sturdy. They are bright coloured and very tactile making mealtimes fun.
They believe so much in their products that they offer a lifetime guarantee – they are pretty much indestructible, other than by burning or cutting with a very sharp knife.
The set arrived promptly and was well packaged. The yellow colour might not have not been my first choice, but it is bright and eye catching. We were sent a bowl, small cup and a spoon.
Being the shape of a chicken, the bowl is interesting for children to look at and the cup and spoon are also animal themed. The set is dishwasher and microwave safe, which is vital for us. Obviously being malleable, they are safe for children to handle. They are all BPA free, which is another important consideration.
The bowl is quite deep, so it keeps the food warm for much longer, than the normal bowls we use. This is great for us, as Baby is much less keen when her food cools down! The spoon has a rest built in and the cup is the perfect size for a little mouth. The bowls would be useful to take on picnics or on holiday if packing space was limited, as they will squish into a small gap.
One major positive is these bowls will not stain. Most plastic tableware, will over time, become scratched and these little groves are the ideal place for germs to live and stains to become ingrained, which is a pet hate of mine.
Overall these sets are really cute and I think children would like them. The main bonus for us is knowing these bowls are BP free and they stay lovely and new looking, whatever we cook for Baby.
