For quite some time Baby has been content with commando crawling, as fast as she can, everywhere. Whenever you help her stand or when she is in the Jumperoo, she curls her toes under and most of the time stands on her tip toes (destined for the Royal Ballet!). This has worried me quite a lot, as I wondered if it would delay her walking. However, all of a sudden over the past week or so she has developed an interest in pulling herself up on things and standing flat footed!
She is so pleased with herself. All she wants to do now is stand and try and climb over things! This makes for a tricky time, as our house is proving difficult to Baby proof!. She hasn’t quite got enough stability to start cruising. Managing only a bit of a shuffle, but she is learning very quickly, so I don’t think it will be long. I think that she will skip ‘proper’ crawling and just get on with walking.
I am so proud of my little girl and so relieved that she is standing properly and not like a ballet dancer! She also loved her cosy padded onesie from Aunty Jennie, I wish I had one!

Aww well done bambi baby! 🙂 Monkey was like this, he commando crawled and then walked. He learnt to crawl properly months after he was walking 🙂 #whatsthestory

Hi, thanks for stopping by and posting on mrsdbliss.blogspot.com. Do you mind telling me why your homes been difficult to baby proof? I ask because The Darling Husband solved one of our problems which was a large open gap into the kitchen. If it’s the same thing I could send you details of how you did it. Let me know via the blog if you want them 🙂

We have lots of area’s that she isn’t allowed in & that’s where she want’s to be. Gates aren’t big enough. We have just invested in a massive fencing system! (playpen) x
How lovely, no wonder you’re proud! x

My little one didn’t like crawling much either…or walking really…he pretty much started running at 10 months!! It’s great when they really start to gain their independence. The onesie is lovely…I would like one too!!!

Way to go Bambi Baby!!
When they learn to walk, it’s such an overwhelming feeling of pride for us, but imagine what it’s like for them! I loved watching as my son (now 15!) learned to walk, and watching my niece take steps last year was awesome! x
